On the 14th matchday of the NFL, there were two Monday Night Football games that started at the same time for the first time. There were two conference duels that ended in nothing less than a thriller

There were two showdowns between the AFC and NFC at the end of the NFL’s 14th matchday, with two games starting at the same time on Monday evening for the first time.

In the AFC, the Miami Dolphins took on the Tennessee Titans, while in the NFC the New York Giants hosted the Green Bay Packers. In the end, the Titans and Giants won in dramatic fashion.

There was a real thriller at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. After the Dolphins seemed inhibited offensively for a long time, the Titans dug themselves a 14-point hole with a few mistakes. Within a very short space of time, the Titans marched down the field twice to make it 28-27, before the Dolphins’ final drive fizzled out.

Overall, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed 23 of 33 passes for 240 yards and fumbled one ball. The Dolphins did not score any offensive points in the first half.

Leading rusher was Raheem Mostert with 96 yards on 21 runs and two touchdowns, best receiver on this evening was Jaylen Waddle with 79 yards and six catches. Tyreek Hill had to leave the game with an ankle injury and rushed for 61 yards.

Will Levis totaled 327 passing yards for the Titans, he provided the first Dolphins touchdown of the game with a pick six to Zach Sieler, but led his team to the lead in crunch time. The best runner was Derrick Henry with just 35 yards, an average of only 2.1 yards, but two touchdowns. Leading receiver was DeAndre Hopkins with 124 yards, including a highlight catch in the 2nd quarter for 45 yards.

Giants snatch victory from Packers’ grasp

In the parallel game, the Green Bay Packers were actually the favorites against the New York Giants, but they were fighting tooth and nail for a long time. In the end, after a similarly wild final phase, the score was 24:22 in favor of New York.

Quarterback Tommy DeVito shone more as a runner than a passer early on. He was the leading rusher for a long time with 71 rushing yards, and through the air he totaled 158 yards and a touchdown and no turnovers. Saquon Barkley scored two touchdowns and rushed for 86 yards, but fumbled without interference late in the 4th quarter when the Giants were well on their way to victory. The Packers then took a dramatic lead before the Giants marched back into field goal range and Randy Bullock hit that field goal. Best receiver was Wan’Dale Robinson with 79 yards.

Jordan Love had a dip in his good form. He only caught 25 of 39 balls and threw an interception to Jason Pinnock. He failed to score a touchdown, but did manage a fumble. The best runner was AJ Dillon with 53 yards, while tight end Tucker Kraft was the most dangerous man through the air with 64 yards. Malik Heath caught the touchdown.

The Packers host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week, while the Giants travel to the New Orleans Saints. The Miami Dolphins travel to the New York Jets and the Tennessee Titans host the Houston Texans.
